ANDREAS HECK Who am I? Great question! For a start, I was born in '92 in Germany where I also lived until 2012 before I moved to Amsterdam to pursue my studies in Physiotherapy. I have an affinity for the USA where I spent 8 months during my time in highschool. Other than that I love going to the gym, eat good food and play with tech gadgets. If you want to know more about me, you can just click the social icons under my photo to find out more about me and what I am up to Why did I want to become a physiotherapist? Because I want to have a meaningful impact on someone else's life and realized that Physiotherapy can offer that. But the desire to have a positive impact on someone else goes beyond the patient-therapist relationship and is also why I enjoy Physiotutors so incredibly much. Getting messages from people all over the world telling us that we have impacted their study and/or early working career means so much to me. Where do I see myself in the future? Building Physiotutors into the number one platform for physiotherapy students & practitioners on the internet and possibly expanding into "offline" academies for students to gain hands-on tutoring during their studies. | KAI SIEGEL I am Kai Sigel and I was born (1985) and raised near Stuttgart in the south of Germany. My focus with Physiotutors lies more on the content side of the videos and I am always trying to make sure that we include the latest research as well as statistical data. Alongside Andreas I fill the role behind and in front of the camera. In my free time I love going to the gym and I go for a run every once in a while. I basically enjoy every ball sport, especially soccer. If I’m not involved in sports, I like to play the guitar or to just read a good book. After graduating from German high school in 2005, I studied Business Information Systems at the Corporate State University in Stuttgart. After working for a big company in Germany for 3 years as an E-Procurement project manager, I decided to quit my office job, to go traveling for a year and to follow my passion: physiotherapy. This passion started due to the fact that I’ve always been interested about health and crazy about sports. During my career as a high-level amateur soccer player I was injured a couple of times and could witness the great work that the physiotherapists did in order to get me back on the pitch again. My studies at the European School of Physiotherapy (ESP) in Amsterdam proved to be a good choice as I am still as enthusiastic about physiotherapy like on day one. Therefore, I am trying to share this enthusiasm as well as the knowledge I have gained during my educational and practical career with you through Physiotutors! First of all I am trying my best to make sure I'll receive my MSc degree in Manual Therapy within the next two years from the SOMT in Amersfoort, so Amsterdam will surely remain my home base for the next years to come. Next to that I am putting all my energy and time into Physiotutors so that we are able to improve what we offer you every day! We have so many ideas with Physiotutors and it excites me to realize them one at a time and to see that we can make a difference for our followers - either during their studies or their professional career! I also love working as a physio and to teach - so while I enjoyed being a guest lecturer at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam last year very much, I will be working part-time in a private practice in Amsterdam from now on again. |
Physiotherapy is our passion and we love our profession.
What drives us is to support you in your learning process, to become your guide, helping hand, partner, colleague, base of trust and possibly friend during your physio education and throughout your career. Our ambition is to make your life as a physio student or practitioner as easy as possible!
We are inspired by our belief that we can contribute to a better physiotherapy education all over the world - especially in countries in which people don't have access to high-quality education or where they cannot afford it. Every student we can reach counts!
We truly care about your progress and want to be involved in your journey, also because through your challenges, questions and feedback in turn, we can improve and become better physios, teachers and entrepreneurs ourselves.
Our mission is to offer you as a physiotherapy student or practitioner a consistent and reliable high-quality source for educational physiotherapy content of a wide variety ranging from online courses, videos, evidence from the latest research articles to the latest news around our profession and helpful tools for your practice or studies allowing you to study at your own pace, anywhere in the world.
The study of physiotherapy is beautiful, but can be overwhelming and frustrating at times when you have to learn everything about anatomy, physiology, orthopedic assessment and more in a very short time.
It's one thing to deal with the huge study load and another not to forget everything straight after the exam or after you have completed your studies. This is exactly the problem we experienced as students and more so as tutors for a group of freshmen at the European School of Physiotherapy (ESP).
Our solution: Since end of 2012 we are providing you with high-quality educational videos, important evidence-based research outcomes and interesting and new developments in the world of physiotherapy. We are present on various social media platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Instragram, Twitter and Snapchat in order to assist you on the platform that suits you best!
And did you know that research has proven that healthcare students, who use e-learning in addition to their regular classes, outperform their classmates? Watch the presentation of our Bachelor thesis or read the whole paper right here!
So ask yourself: Wouldn't you wish to have a source, which you can access comfortably from home or anywhere else? A platform that simplifies complicated topics and that makes your life as a student or practitioner as easy as it could possibly get?
Our mission is to give you exactly that!
So don't hesitate to subscribe to our various social media platforms and to get in touch with us!
We are grateful for every subscriber and happy to hear from you!
